Executive Board

President: Theresa Gilbert – president@ncln.ca
Theresa grew up in a family where pro-life activities were the norm. When she started university she became the President of her campus club, University of Waterloo Students for Life (UWSFL) and remained on the Executive until her graduating year. She was introduced to NCLN through her club involvement, attending the National Symposium and taking advantage of the various resources available, including regular contact with the Executive Director. As a result, she applied to become the Executive Director when she graduated. From 2007-2010 she worked full-time for NCLN. Theresa is now the President. She continues to speak and write for the pro-life movement.

Secretary: Elaine Zettel

Elaine Zettel became involved in campus pro-life activities at McMaster University after attending the NCLN symposium in 2004.  During the next three years she served on the executive of McMaster LifeLine and assisted in building the club, hosting events, and writing articles.  She has been secretary of NCLN since 2007.


Finance Advisor: Alex Cassar – financial@ncln.ca
When Alex went to the University of Waterloo in 1999, he co-founded University of Waterloo Students For Life (UWSFL) and subsequently served in various UWSFL executive positions, including club President. UWSFL was very active regularly garnering campus media exposure through a variety of debates, speakers and poster campaigns. Upon graduating, Alex joined the NCLN Executive as the Finance Officer and is now responsible for preparing NCLN financial reports and budgets.

Renee Schmitz, Western Canada – renee@ncln.ca.

Renee has been a Registered Nurse since 2006 and was Western Director of the National Campus Life Network from 2008-2010. Prior to working for NCLN, Renee volunteerd with Birthright from 2004-2008. She is also currently helping build up a network for Canadian Nurses for Life.



Clarissa Luluquisin, Central Canada

Clarissa has always been pro-life, but never really became involved in activities until her second and third years of university, where she participated in some University of Toronto Students for Life events.  In her fourth year, she became the President of her club, and learned many things about being pro-life and the pro-life arguments by attending the National Symposium hosted by NCLN.  Currently, she is also on the Toronto Right to Life Board, the pro-life representative for her youth group, and is looking forward to helping out this year’s UofT Students for Life Executive with events and activities.



Stacy Anderson, Maritimes

Stacy recently graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Nursing Degree and is presently working as a registered nurse at a local hospital. Her parents taught her at a young age the pro-life message and she has continued to hold firmly to the pro-life view. She has faithfully fundraised for the local pregnancy resource center for the past 13 years and has a desire to become more actively involved in pro-life issues in the Maritimes and across Canada.


Advisory Board

Johanna Miller, BSW/BA Health Studies – Johanna was an Executive member of McMaster LifeLine from 2004-2008. She was President of NCLN from 2008 – 2010.

Sarah Hudson, BSc(Hon) – Sarah was the Executive Director of NCLN in 2006-2007.  She moved to BC where she launched a Western Office and became NCLN’s Western Director from 2007-2008. Sarah is married with two children.

Denise Chun, BEd, HonBA – Denise was on the executive for the prolife club at UofT for 4 years and then Executive Director  for NCLN upon graduation in 2004-2005. She has been on the board since then. Denise is married with two boys.

Santosh D’Souza, BA – Santosh was on the executive of the Uof T Students for Life between 2004 and 2007. He is married with a new born daughter.
