Why get involved in pro-life activities in your high school?
The stakes are high in your high school. Approximately a quarter of abortions performed in Canada are performed on high school students. All around you are men and women shattered by their abortion experience, men and women facing the choice of how to deal with an unplanned pregnancy.
The students in your high school need to hear the pro-life message, understand there is support for both mothers and their child and embrace the message that all human life is valuable.
Many people, including your fellow students, do not fully understand the pro-life message and default to a pro-”choice” position. All the while, in the balance hangs the lives of unborn children and the well-being of their parents. The pro-life message is needed in your school. And the pro-life message needs you.
But to be an effective Ambassador for Life, you need to be equipped with:
- knowledge of the pro-life position and how to defend it;
- strategies and tools to promote the message effectively.
Student pro-life clubs are effective ways to make a difference for life at school. Why? As an individual, you can only do so much. With a team of people, you can do much more and you can do it more effectively. You have access to: more ideas, resources, time, energy, manpower, and connections.
Involvement in a pro-life club also offers you incredible opportunities to develop skills like leadership, organization, communication, and event-planning. You’ll form incredible relationships and can connect with other incredible pro-life students in your region and even across your country.

Though our primary focus is on the campuses, our resources have been used in high schools. As well, we have been invited to speak to a number of high schools at general assemblies and to the pro-life clubs.
NCLN partnered in 2010 with the Toronto Right to Life Association to develop a club manual specifically for high school pro-life clubs. For more information, please click here.
